About our TEFL/TESOL course:
TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) and TESOL (Teaching English as a Second Language) are the same certification and it's the major qualification required by learning institutions to teach English Abroad.
We offer our TEFL/TESOL Course which meets international standards and follows the British Council criteria with over 120 hours of class time and observed teacher practice.
Our training programs in Montpellier, Nice and Cannes are validated by IATQuO. (International Accreditation of TESOL Qualifying Organizations) IATQuO is a non-profit independant accreditation board that moderates and certifies TESOL Courses. External moderation is composed of regular internal reviews of both materials and delivery of services.
Chief Moderator, Dr Alan Moller has been director of the English Language Service Department of the British Council incorporating, among other tasks, inspecting and advising language schools worldwide. He has written many of the British Council Test of English as a Foreign Language and played a major role in introducing the IELTS in 1989. Dr. Moller was also Chief Examiner for Trinity College of London. For more information about IATQuO, contact email@example.com
The Language House provides the unique opportunity to experience evolving from "student" to "teacher". This hands-on program is designed to engage the trainee with active participation. At every turn, our trainees are fully involved in their own learning experience. We maintain small class sizes to promote a more intense environment and whenever possible trainers will model teaching techniques and activities which trainees will use in the classroom.
Unlike many certificate programs, our teacher practice component takes place in both mainstream education as well as private English language schools. We provide the opportunity to teach both children and adults which is important when looking for work abroad.
The TESOL Certificate- Teachers of English to Students of Other Languages- provides training for those who have little or no teaching experience who wish to enter the English teaching profession.
Our course is externally moderated with all major segments graded before successful completion of the course. The program lasts for four weeks which entails 120 hours of classroom time. The first two weeks are mostly classroom sessions. The main components included are;
Teaching of an unknown language
Teaching Young Learners
Teaching One to One Lessons
Case Study Project
The daily schedule is 9:30 to 5:00 pm everyday, Monday thru Friday. In the first two weeks, our trainees are students and while moving into the second two weeks, they assume the role of teacher by participating in Observed Teacher Practice. After all, the best way to learn anything is to actually do it.
